about

The young Berliner Jon Moon presents „Praise Jah“, the third single of his upcoming EP. After the hopeful and energetic lead single „Brighter Day“ and the slower, mellow tribute to Vaughn Benjamin, „Messenjah“, Jon Moon wrote this song to give thanks for all the - seemingly - little things that make life worth living. And to praise Jah in his own way: through the medium of Reggae music. This spiritual, dubby tune, with its pushing steppas-beat was inspired by, and is dedicated to the soundsystem movement & culture. The kick drum and the fundamental bassline will make you want to move your feet, while the lyrics and delay-filled vocals and trombone lift you up to higher spheres! „Praise Jah“ will be released digitally by Yutman Records, October 30.

lyrics

Oh when I rise up in the morning I praise Jah
Oh when I rise up in the morning I praise Jah
He is the most High of all beings, my father
And no matter where I go I know he's not far

Because HIM guide me on my way, where I walk and where I stay
Where I sit and where I lay until my very hair turns grey
No matter what they say we will never go astray
Because we stick to Rastafari like the spring sticks to may
If I may, I'd have something to say
Far too many have fallen prey to the system we obey
So we haffi break away, teach the youths a better way
All Jah Jah children come along and say:

Oh when I rise up in the morning I praise Jah
Oh when I rise up in the morning I praise Jah
He is the most High of all beings, my father
And no matter where I go I know he's not far

I haffi praise him for the clothes that I wear, the food that I eat
The sky above my head and the soil under my feet
The water that I drink, the fruits that we reap
The unity we fight for, every promise that you keep
And every likkle step we take although the road is steep
Everything you try to change although we're in too deep
Give thanks to Rastafari 'cause the world is for the meek, yeah
Yes, the world is for the meek

Oh when I rise up in the morning I praise Jah
Oh when I rise up in the morning I praise Jah
He is the most High of all beings, my father
And no matter where I go I know he's not far
Oh when I rise up in the morning I praise Jah
Oh when I rise up in the morning I praise Jah
He is the most High of all beings, my father
And no matter where I go I know he's not far
